Cosmetology

Sassoon has been at the forefront of high quality education in the hair business for more than 50 years. The leading edge of this education is the world renowned ABC | Cutting Hair the Sassoon Way system. This is the cutting and finishing system you will use at DuVall’s School of Cosmetology.
The cosmetology program requires 1500 hours/43 weeks be earned to be accepted by the state licensing board for examination. The hours are broken down into the following categories:
- Orientation
- Salon Management and Practices
- Chemistry as Applied to Cosmetology
- Hair and Scalp Treatment and Related Theory
- Shampoos, Rinses, Conditioners, Treatments and Related Theory
- Nail Care and Procedures and Related Theory
- Skin Care Procedures and Related Theory
- Haircutting, Styling and Related Theory
- Chemical Hair Relaxing and Related Theory
- Hair Coloring and Related Theory
- Chemical Reformation, Cold Waving, and Related Theory

Esthetics
An esthetician with the quality credentials from DuVall's will find many career opportunities.
If you are passionate, enjoy working with your hands and interacting with people, then a career as a Licensed Esthetician could be perfect for you! You can be on your way to a rewarding career within the beauty industry where you can put your talents to use.
Students enrolled in the Advanced Esthetics Program at DuVall’s School of Cosmetology will receive practical training and technical instruction covering all aspects of Esthetics including Skin Analysis, Facials, Hair Removal, Exfoliation, Make-up, Salon Management and State Board Training. You will learn the art and science of Esthetics from experienced, passionate Esthetics & Spa Educators.
DuVall’s School of Cosmetology is a Dermalogica Partner School as well as trained in the use of Rhonda Allison chemical peels. The majority of student training is learned through real life experience with guests. This format provides an exceptional learning experience that prepares students with a solid background of practical hands-on training directly related to the skin-care industry. In addition to acquiring the 750 hours required to test for Texas State License, DuVall’s Esthetics graduate earns certification in microderm abrasions and chemical peels.
